How to Download Images from the Image Bank

Medium and High resolution images from the image bank can be downloaded for free, provided that users adhere to the guidelines for use listed in the Copyright and Fair Use Statement.

Medium resolution images can be downloaded from the “View Medium Resolution” links that are included in the search results pages. Once you have completed a search and have clicked on the link to view the medium resolution image, you can drag the image that appears onto your desktop, where it will be copied to and available for use. PC users may have to right-click on the image and choose Save Picture As to save the image to a location on the computer. Please see the Copyright and Fair Use Statement for guidelines on the appropriate use of these images.

To download the High Resolution images:

  1. Right-click (or control-click on a Macintosh) the "Download High Resolution Image" link found on the "Search Results" page or on the "View Medium Resolution Image" page
  2. Select "Save Target As"

Please do bear in mind that the High Resolution images may be as large as 20 MB, and may be in JPG or TIFF formats.
