Reference Center

The reference center includes links to research, educational materials and information at the Design Center and other organizations. Resources include downloadable Design Center publications, links to sources for information and events, and forthcoming image database, and livable community fact sheets.

    Selected Design Center publications, 1989–present, including reports + handbooks, articles, design briefs, design pointers (PowerPoint presentations), and annual reports.
  • Events, Lectures + Exhibitions
    Calendar of upcoming events, lectures, and exhibitions. Links to past events.
  • Image Bank
    A searchable, downloadable database of approximately 20,000 Design Center images of the metropolitan landscape, including many low-level oblique aerial photos.
  • Fact Sheets
    Fact sheets on livable community and sustainable developments, standardized to facilitate comparison between and among projects.
  • Links
    Categorized links to related web sites on topics of urban design, smart growth, design centers, and others.
  • Web Site Technical Assistance
    The Design Center often offers technical assistance to organizations as a part of the Direct Design Assistance program, or other projects.
